Miccosukee Tribe Launches Phased $40 Million Expansion, Paving the Way for the Resort’s Next Chapter

Miami, FL – October 28, 2025 – The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida marked a historic moment in its legacy last week with a Ceremonial Groundbreaking launching a phased $40 million expansion at Miccosukee Casino & Resort.
Held on October 23 in the resort’s courtyard, the event brought together Tribal leadership, community members, and project partners to commemorate the beginning of transformational developments that will shape the next generation of Miccosukee hospitality, entertainment, and cultural pride.
The ceremony featured a traditional blessing, remarks from Tribal and property leaders, and a symbolic turning of the earth alongside representatives from Arcadis, Dade Construction, EDSA, and Martin Aquatic. Guests also viewed architectural renderings and video previews highlighting the first phase of the expansion: a resort-style Pool & Lazy River and a multi-purpose entertainment facility, both central to the Tribe’s multi-phase Master Plan.
“This groundbreaking is a testament to our Tribe’s strength and forward-thinking spirit,” said Chairman Talbert Cypress of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida. “Each shovel of earth turned is a symbol of our commitment to the next generation and to the enduring Miccosukee legacy.”
“The Miccosukee Tribe’s vision for growth and transformation continues to inspire us all,” said Brad Rhines, General Manager of Miccosukee Casino & Resort. “This phased $40 million expansion strengthens our position as a premier entertainment destination while enhancing the guest experience in every way. We’re proud to be part of a moment that honors our past and builds for our future.”
“Arcadis is honored to help bring the Tribe’s vision to life,” said Dan Freed, Business Unit Director of the US East region, Arcadis U.S., Inc. “This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to blending cultural heritage, design innovation, and sustainable development—creating a destination that stands as a symbol of progress and pride for the Miccosukee people.”
“We’re proud to partner with the Miccosukee Tribe in constructing this next chapter,” said Jonathan Cuesta, President, Dade Construction. “Every project milestone reflects the Tribe’s dedication to excellence and community impact.”
The phased $40 million expansion underscores the Tribe’s dedication to economic development, job creation, and cultural preservation, marking the next step in the ongoing evolution of its worldclass resort on the edge of the Florida Everglades.
